| The basic material for bassoon reeds comes from the kind of
cane (Arundo donax) that is found in regions of the Mediteraenen. Every
single cane tube has its own structure and is grown individually.
Through special hardness testing, all cane that is too soft or too hard
is disregarded.
Despite a very careful and exact selection, every piece of cane has its
own unique way of vibration.
My philosophy is to take into consideration the vibrating properties of
each single reed, and through many small individual stages of handwork, the
best quality will be achieved. |
